ALTAR SERVERS
We are currently scheduling servers once in a 4 week cycle, making every attempt to accommodate Mass preferences.

ALTAR SERVING AT RESURRECTION PARISH
Training for altar serving will be held on Sunday, November 1st, and Sunday in November 15th, after the 11:30 Mass . Please contact Debi Smith 781-740-0513 or petedebi@verizon.net for more information or to sign up. Open to 4th grade & up.

Fr. Quinn has asked us to remind everyone that if you see that there is no server or only one server that you please step up and help serve mass even if it is not your 'scheduled' time. Everyone should have an Altar Server roster with everyone's email address and phone number. Please use this when you cannot do your scheduled mass and you need coverage. You can either send a group email requesting help or if you're more comfortable calling on the phone that is fine as well but please do not just not show up and assume that the other server on will.

Please dress appropriately in dress clothes and shoes. No sneakers or plastic sandals allowed.

You must be at the church 30 MINUTES EARLY to assist Mrs. Gabriel in setting up for the wedding. The priest will tell you if there are any special details about this particular wedding that you need to know. Plan on staying an additional 20 MINUTES AFTER the wedding.

A white belt is worn over your alb for all weddings.

The priest will give directions as to how to go out into the sanctuary when the wedding begins.

You will take the Maid of Honor and Bride's bouquets at the beginning of the ceremony and set them on the second step of the altar.

After the readings you follow the priest to the front of the altar facing the people.

Take the dish with the rings in one hand and the holy water in the other and hold them.

The priest will bless the rings and the bride and groom will exchange their vows and rings.

When they are done put the dish and holy water back on the stand.

If this is a wedding with a Mass it will continue now as a regular Mass.

At the end of the wedding or Mass give the Bride and Maid of Honor back their bouquets.

After the wedding you need to help clean up the church.

Wrap up and throw away the runner if it is paper. If cloth, wrap it up and put it in the corner by the door that leads out to the handicap ramp.

Clean up and throw away any boxes and papers left from the flowers in the sacristy and the front of the church.

Put the kneelers and chairs back in place. Move the priest's chair back to the left of the altar to be ready for Mass.

Pick up and throw away any programs left in the pews.

Check with Mrs. Gabriel before you leave to see if anything else needs to be done.
