MISSION STATEMENT

We, as parishioners of the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, are a community of believers grounded in the teaching of Jesus in the Roman Catholic tradition. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we welcome all people to join us in our Faith Journey. Through worship, prayer, study , and action, we strive to bring the good news and value of God’s Kingdom to our community and to the world beyond our community.

FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK:

Father Quinn Today's Gospel is about accountability, accountability to the Lord for what we do or don't do with the gifts He has given us. God's gifts are given to individuals for the good of others. We multiply those gifts when we share them. I was reading about the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and how much good the Foundation is doing in third world countries to fight disease in children. The Foundation operates on the principle "that every human life has equal value." I reflect on Habitat for Humanity's principle that decent housing is not an option; a principle that has engaged thousands of people throughout the world to get involved in building houses for others. Accountability is good. Accountability is not to make us feel guilty but to remind us of the power of good people who act. God's gifts are given to be multiplied not buried for a rainy day. Thought for the week: What gift has God given me and how can I use it to make life better for someone else?
--Peace, Fr. Quinn
